Grades 6-8 · one canonical course
Grade 6 writing practice.
Draftstead plans a single core course of 16 modules and 80 lessons for all of grades 6-8. It is not three separate curricula. What changes by grade is the depth of the tasks and the amount of instructional support — two settings the design deliberately keeps separate, so more support never means easier ideas.
Task depth at grade 6
Grade 6 tasks emphasize short, concrete pieces: one clear position, one relevant detail, one explained reason. Examples stay close to everyday school and club decisions.
Support at grade 6
Guided support is expected to be common: more worked examples, more optional frames, and smaller suggested piece sizes.
Grade-specific reviewed variants are pending educator review. The notes above describe the planned direction, not published, grade-calibrated content.
