Grades 6-8 · one canonical course
Grade 7 writing practice.
Draftstead plans a single core course of 16 modules and 80 lessons for all of grades 6-8. It is not three separate curricula. What changes by grade is the depth of the tasks and the amount of instructional support — two settings the design deliberately keeps separate, so more support never means easier ideas.
Task depth at grade 7
Grade 7 tasks add a second reason or a comparison, and begin asking students to explain why a detail matters, not just name it.
Support at grade 7
Support scales back gradually: frames appear less often, and students choose when to open a hint.
Grade-specific reviewed variants are pending educator review. The notes above describe the planned direction, not published, grade-calibrated content.
